Jammin' Jets is an audition-only after-school performance ensemble for students who are ready to take their musical skills to the next level! Meeting every Wednesday after school, students develop their vocal and instrumental talents through singing and learning ensemble performance skills on instruments like ukulele, xylophones, drums, and other percussion instruments.
Throughout the school year, Jammin' Jets performs at various community events such as the Marietta Tree Lighting, Lockheed's Evening of the Arts, and local sporting events, giving students the exciting opportunity to share their music with the wider community.
Our goal is to build confident, collaborative musicians who work together to deliver engaging performances. Whether an experienced or novice musician, Jammin' Jets offers a dynamic and rewarding musical experience.
Hannah Norton is the music teacher at Lockheed Elementary, where she has taught for the past six years. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Kennesaw State University and a Master's degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. Ms. Norton is also fully Orff Schulwerk certified, bringing a dynamic, hands-on approach to music education that emphasizes creativity, movement, and active music-making.
In addition to her classroom teaching, Ms. Norton directs two after-school programs. Jammin' Jets, founded in 2021, is a performance group where students sing and play instruments at community events throughout the year. In 2023, she established Drama Club, giving students another opportunity to perform and build confidence through the arts.
Ms. Norton believes that music is a powerful gift that inspires and enriches our lives. She is committed to making music education accessible to all students, regardless of their background, and works to create an inclusive environment where every child can experience the joy and growth that music brings.
