Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy at Lockheed Elementary School fosters opportunities for kindergarten through fifth grade students to develop their leadership capacity. The program provides kindergarten through fifth grade student’s with mentorship and guidance to see themselves as leaders by applying principles outlined in The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. Each student’s personal and academic/professional growth is supported through the enGauge® 21st Century Skills Program to address the areas of digital literacy, inventive thinking, effective communication and high productivity.

District Recognizes International Education Week, Nov. 17 – 21
As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School District , Marietta City Schools acknowledges the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. We also recognize the contributions of our Visiting International Faculty (VIF) at Sawyer Road and Lockheed Elementary schools , and the work of all our educators interested in international education and exchange activities.
School Governance Teams to Solicit Input Proposed 2009-2010 School Calendars
Marietta City Schools (MCS) new School Governance Teams (SGT) and the School Council at Sawyer Road Elementary will work with their individual schools to solicit input from all parents and guardians of students attending MCS, and district employees, regarding three proposed calendar options for the 2009-2010 school year. Choice Academies Information Session, Dec. 10
A Choice Academies information session is scheduled Dec. 10, 2008 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Cobb Central Library, 266 Roswell Street in Marietta. This informative session will help parents and community members learn more about the Choice Academies application process, and the unique academic programs offered at each school.
